What a great night it was on Saturday, well done to the organisers. Alberts Kitchen: Having been bombarded with heavy rock 24/7 it made a change to listen to a somewhat different type of music of which this band played very well, the woman on the pipes and the what ever you call it was top notch. Stelvis: This was there last performance and they did it with style, loved the Coldplay song, Ferocious Dog: What can you say, they were brilliant, the whole place was jigging, awesome( ( i think thats what you say in Heavy Metal Speak). Adhesive: Now theres a quality band there ability both vocally and musically they were special, it was a shame that most of warsops budding musicians and a majority of the audience disappeared after Ferocious Dog finished, N.B Do you think that perhaps the headlining band might be going on too late for the audience that the Black Market is attracting.

Thanks for the feedback TJ we need more of this to know what folks are thinking. To pick up a few of your points and to add some more info, its early days for the Black Market venue and one of their main tasks is to get local people to start coming back to the place after years of neglect which has created an image that will take some time to shake off. The second objective is to establish the place as a major live music venue on the main circuit attracting promoters and bands from the wider area as well as our home grown talent. The venue needs variety and having just taken a look at the gig guide it doesn't look all that bad? From the end of November through till the end of December there will have been; a punk night, a folk rock night, a metal night, a rave, a country blues double weekend, an indie / pop night and a xmas party covers night! so not bad on the variety front. There is a plan for a full diary of events for the coming year and with the introduction of Saturday night tribute bands the venue should go from strength to strength and draw the people back in.. I think the running order times will always be a head scratcher but I take your point that perhaps a large element of the audience on Saturday didn't fancy the late night. I did feel though that we kept a reasonable audience of adults for Adhesive, certainly better than the previous week and the band had a good time!! they've asked about another gig!! As you say 24/7 Metal would certainly keep a contingent of Warsop very happy!!! and while the lads in these bands have been brilliant all year supporting Muso's and the Black Market we must shake off any perception that Muso's or Black Market is a just a Metal scene. A bit more info while i'm on a roll, 1.00am Sunday to Friday and until 2.30am on Saturday are the new opening hours and The Workingmens is no longer a club so membership is not required, it's open to the public like any other pub in Warsop. Thanks again for your feedback the bands love a bit of positive comment, I hope it sparks some more comments from other people. ;D DD

Sorry Dave I was not implying that the Black Market has Metal 24/7 just me in my house, so it made a change to hear these other acts, and with respect to all our local young metal bands, experience shows.
i am sure that the Black Market WILL become the venue for live music in Nottinghamshire,
Keep up the good work
Now whens the next metal night lol !!!!!!! ;D

how about the venue making a bit extra towards the cause by selling a bit of hot food? with it going on a bit later than the norm i think some people get the munchies and head for the chippies before they shut. the late thing works well for me though cos i m fat enough and by the time i come out everywheres shut. i ll soon be able to fit into that size 10 ballroom dress, thats if i can manage to limit the nuclear brown intake !! ;D

I can start a new forum board for topics relating to BLACK MARKET but even I cant move individual posts into another thread! Just like to point out that the new BLACK MARKET website has a guest-book feature where people can leave their feedback, but it's not really a forum as such, I dont think the venue itself warrents it's own forum. I'll create a BLACK MARKET board on the current Muso's forum & raise the topics & points made so far, Thanks again to 'tj' & 'arry' for thier interesting comments.
